i wasn't trying to advertize anything, just thought maybe someone of you been there before ...it is a small world - world of Jazz music in France and i am as a musician do not mind to loose my anonimity on this board. but i edited that one again. |

Login into the smc7804 by puting its IP address into the browser, default is 192.168.2.1, password ´smcadmin´.
On the WAN port we could try static IP (in the same range of existing or Dynamic IP (if your ADSL modem is a DHCP server).
Example
ADSLMODEM LAN IP: 192.168.0.1
SMC7804 WAN IP: 192.168.0.2
SMC7804 LAN IP: 192.168.2.1
PC1 IP: 192.168.2.20 GW: 192.168.2.1
Could set SMC as the DHCP server, although for wireless client its better to set Static IP.
How is the one laptop connecting???

Sounds very reasonable and very close to something I already suggested that you do.

Merci Gaspou, i have tryed before to go in the admin page of Barricade and messed things up a bit ..that i had to reset it to default againg ..'cause i didn't really know what i was doing - the manual doesn't explain howto disable the Wan port ADSL modem on Barricade and make it to function only as a Wireless router on Lan port.
But now i will try the abovementioned method later tonight (there is a Live BossaNova concert right now at the Bar) i still have a hope

Voila! ca marche.
Tonight i've menaged to make it to work with the help of inmuck from http://www.broadbandreports.com SMC users forum
Here is what i've done in english ( need your help to translate it to good French i'd like to post a tutorial here with all the screenshots):

1.activate router option on Freebox V.3
wia web inetface on the site of http://www.free.fr with your log and pass:
You'll get a conformation page in french looking like that:

Activation du mode routeur pour votre Freebox
Valeurs mises a jour avec succès:
Mode routeur: Active
IP Lan: 192.168.0.254
Serveur DHCP: Active
IP debut DHCP: 192.168.0.1
IP fin DHCP: 192.168.0.50
Reponse au ping: Desactive
Redirections:
Rebootez votre freebox pour que les paramètres soient pris en compte
Retour
-------------------------------------------------
2.reboot your Freebox V3 modem
3.Log into SMC via Ethernet cable 192.168.2.1 pass smcadmin
3. Go to Advance Setup ->LAN change LAN IP adress to 192.168.0.100
click on aplly.
4.Important step!
Relog on SMC using 192.168.0.100 same pass Goto -->Advance Setup-->LAN---->
set DHCP Srver to disable in order for Freebox modem to be the ((ONLY)) DHCP server .
5. Disconnect SMC Ethernet cable from administration computer and connect it to Freebox modem.
6. Now connect to SMC Wi-Fi network via Wireless card of your Mac/PC using connect via DHCP option in your network prefs. you shold get an address something like:
IP address: 192.168.0.2 next laptop will get 192.168.0.3 and so on...
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.0.254 (Freebox modem Routing IP)
and you should be able to browse the web on all computers!
