Orange WiFi extender

Les excuses pour écrire ceci en anglais, mon Français technique sont très mauvaises.

Orange are currently selling a 'WiFi extender kit" for 129€ (TTC) in their French shops, which is incredible value as it is re-badged devolo HomePlug equipment which costs 150€ plus elsewhere.

However, you need to hack it to take full advantage of it.

Firstly, the password is not 'HomePlug', so you need to run the devolo software to change the password on both adaptors.

The WiFi plug needs a WPA key, but they don't tell you what it is (There is no manual or CD in the pack) It is not on the bottom of the plug. The default SSID is Livebox something.

So you need to find out its IP by looking at the DHCP clients table of your DHCP server.

Then put that IP into your web browser and you have immediate access to the configuration pages, where you can find the WPA key, change the SSID, make it into a client instead of an access point etc...

Orange have no information on their web site about this product.

I don't know how one would discover the WPA key,without ringing Orange at 34€ a minute.

Tu peux acheter chez Orange un répéteur wifi Devolo pour 129€ au lieu de 150€. Il faut cependant s'y connecter par le software Devolo pour changer le mot de passe; il faut trouver l'IP du machin sur ton routeur, pour pouvoir y entrer, trouver la clé WPA et tout bidouiller comme tu veux.
